Shorts - Is There an Age Limit?

Happy Memorial Day weekend!  Now that I am 51 years old, I am amazed and baffled when someone shares with me the latest do's and don'ts of what to wear at a certain age.  No jean shorts after your 30's, a two-piece bathing suit never after the age of 40. Why all of these rules? And who decided that people should stop wearing something they like just because they are a certain age?  Why can't we celebrate each other, without the judgmental roll of the eyes or snarky look when we see someone wearing something we may, not ourselves feel comfortable in?

For the most part, I am blessed to surround myself with very supportive women, who could care less if I am wearing a string bikini or a momo dress.  This, of course, does not mean that I have not experienced comments like  "wow your shorts are really short for your age"  which now I have learned to just shake off and walk away from.

As the Florida temperatures start to climb to a very balmy 80+ temperatures, I think we should just wear whatever we feel comfortable in.  I really believe what really shines through when wearing an outfit is not the clothes themselves but the confidence and comfort one exudes.

So wear what you want, don't let your age determine what you can or cannot wear, as long as you feel beautiful in it - Go For It!

Do you think age should determine what one should wear?  Love to hear from you.

xx,

Terri
